visa requirements
General Guidelines:
All the consulates are no longer issuing Visa on additional pages and to
child endorsed in the passport. so in case of additional pages, an
additional booklet is required and for the child a separate passport is a
must for stamping of visa.
1. Passport
It should be valid for a minimum period of six months from the date of
application.
2. Form
One Should always use neat and clean copy of form (original only
wherever needed) neatly typed or clearly handwritten with all the details
filled up and signed by the applicant. This helps a lot in processing visa
quickly, otherwise due to unavailability of even a small detail sometime
there are chances of the visa getting delayed.
3. Photographs
Always use recent Passport size Color photographs (Not older than
six months)
4. Ticket
All the sectors in the ticket has to be confirmed.
5. Foreign Exchange
It has to be endorsed in the passport. it can be avoided if the applicant is
holding.
Valid International Credit Card.
An Invitation in which it is mentioned that applicant's all expenses will be
borne by the sponsor or inviting company (In spite of having invitation or
sponsorship as above forex endorsement is a must in many cases)
Minimum USD 100 Per day is required for European Countries.
6. Overseas Medical Policy
It Should be valid for a minimum period of 14 days or should cover the
period of travel if it is more than 14 days. the following points should be
kept in mind.
7. Covering Letter
Covering letter differs from case to case. While drafting a
letter following points should be kept in mind.
It has to be on a letterhead (Not a plain paper. Plain paper is accepted
only if person is retired)
It should contain brief introduction of applicants (Must contain names,
designation of all persons traveling).
Purpose of traveling should be mentioned clearly (i.e. tourism, business,
religious, or as applicable)
Duration of visit also should be mentioned clearly.
If purpose of visit is business, a letter should explain in brief company's
business i.e. in product, company deals, its turnover, etc.
Name and designation of the person signing the letter is a must
In all business covering letters "Medical Clause" is a must (i.e. if any
medical expense occurs in the country of travel, will be borne by the
company).
All the business letters should be signed by higher authorities of the
applicant.
8. Evidence of Status (Financial Papers)
The very important documents needed in support of visa are as
follows
Income Tax Papers for last 3 years.
TDS from 16A Certificate
Papers proving ownership of real estate.
Fixed deposit receipts, share certificates, etc.
All the above in original.
9. Employment Proof
If a person is employed, following documents are required
Appointment letter from employer
Salary slips
No objection letter on a Company's letter head.
10. Main Destination Visa
Onward visa or visa for the country of main destination should be obtained
first.
11. No Objection Letter
No objection letter from both the parents on Rs.10/- Stamp paper
with Notary is needed.
12. Letter of Invitation
This is one of the most important supporting document for the
application of business visa.
Following point should be observed while asking the party for invitation.
It should be on the inviting company's letter head.
Name of the applicant, applicant's passport, duration and purpose of visit
should be clearly mentioned in the invitation.
Name and designation of the person signing the invitation has to be there
along with company's stamp
It should be addressed to the consulate and the copy of the same should
reach to the consulate directly from inviting company by fax.
